This 7-day tour focuses on the ancient Inca capital of Cusco, exploring the Sacred Valley and the lost city of Machu Picchu in detail. Cusco is rich on culture and history, as you discover on a half-day tour, once you’ve acclimatized to the altitude. From Cusco, travel through the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Plenty of mystery still shrouds the lost city of the Incas, but your guide will shed some light on what we do know, as you explore the world’s most famous mountaintop citadel.
ITINERARY OVERVIEW
Day 1 Arrive in Lima, capital city. Rest, explore!
Day 2 Fly to Cusco. Spend afternoon on guided tour of the this ancient Inca Empire capital and Spanish-colonial city.

Days 3-5 Authentic Sacred Valley Exploration, and Machu Picchu. Inca Terraces, the weavers’ community of Chinchero, Inca fort town of Ollantaytambo, Pisac, travel by train through Andean landscape to Aguas Calientas, and then to the mountaintop citadel of Machu Picchu, where you get a guided tour, plus additional time to explore on your own.
Day 6 Return to Lima. Spend your last day on a guided city tour of an amazing modern capital, or explore on your own.
